Uptown Consignment Crawl FAQs

What dates are these treks given?
We have Consignment Crawls scheduled for just about every other Saturday at 1pm, The exact dates are listed on a scroll down menu on the order form.

Where do we go on this trek?
We go to upscale consignment & thrift shops located on Manhattan's upper east side. Most of the items for sale in these stores are used.

What is the difference between a consignment & thrift shop?
Consignment shops are usually for profit establishments where consigner's bring .clothes & accessories to the shop for resale. When the items are sold, the money is split between the store & consigner. These store are very selective about the type of items they will accept, so you will usually find a higher quality of gently used items in these types of stores, and they will be in the cleanest most pristine condition.

Thrift shops are usually not for profit establishments run by churches or other charity organizations such as Cancer Care & the like. Items are donated and profits go to whatever organization sponsors the store. You will find all sorts of merchandise in these stores besides clothing. They carry furniture, books, toys, household items, home decor & more.

Is transportation provided?
This is a walking tour, but we don't hike all over the city. We stay within a few blocks in the same area.

Where does the trek begin ?
We meet on Madison Ave between 79th & 80th Sts. for this trek, however detailed instructions will be given on your confirmation page when you sign up & also will be emailed to you at that time. We don't want people just showing up without having already registered with us, so we don't give specific info on the website.

Who will be taking us around?
Either Pamela Parisi or one of her personal shoppers will be your fearless leader for the day.

Should we tip our leader?
Although tipping is not mandatory, most people do. Some of the factors to consider when determining the amount of a tip on a tour like this is, how happy you are with your service, of course, if the leader goes overtime & for how long & the amount of savings accumulated on your purchases.

What types of merchandise can we expect to see on this trek?
We will see all kinds of clothing & accessories for women, men & children on this in addition to furniture, books, toys, household items, home decor & more. Most of the items will be used, but we do come across new things too on occasion.

What are some of the labels we may see on this trek?
We will be seeing every type of clothing & accessory from Chanel on down. You will see Prada, Gucci, St. John, Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Tahari, Theory, etc. You will also see more middle of the road designers like Ann Taylor, Jones NY etc.
